Exercise Cycles for Hire
Indoor cycling involves mostly the lower body muscles - studio cycles are an exception to this rule - and has the advantage of being low impact, therefore making it ideal for most people. It is an aerobic exercise, with benefits including cardiorespiratory fitness, fat loss and muscle toning.
Hire of an exercise cycle is not just for cyclists; it’s one of the most popular forms of indoor exercise as it is affordable and requires no technique.
For a cyclist wanting to increase performance, all of the types of exercise cycle have benefits. In Winter, it can be difficult to make the time and inclination to ride outside, with the weather being poor and the morning and evenings being dark. Riding indoors is a good solution, and also mixes up the method of training.
There are 4 styles of Indoor Cycle available for hire:
Upright Cycles have a “sitting up” position, with a comfortable saddle and adjustment for height and reach. Most have programmes to keep the training interesting, and some have step-through frames, making them more suitable for infirm or injured users.
These are smooth and quiet with electromagnetic resistance, so hiring an upright cycle is not intrusive in the home.
These are the most popular kind of cycle to rent and most larger home gyms will have one. Cycle training during a short term hire can boost fitness in a convenient space and at a time that suits the customer.
We only hire fitness machines that have top reviews and are reliable.
Recumbent Cycles have a sitting down position, with a back rest, and therefore are recommended for those who are infirm, injured or suffering with back pain.
This is a popular way to be comfortable while training and rental models usually have interesting programmes to keep the heart rate on track. They are however longer than all other kinds of hire cycles.
Spinning or Studio Cycles simulate racing cycling indoors. They are designed for more aggressive workouts, so the handlebars are lower, and the saddle is smaller. This enables the user to ride off the saddle and even pedal backwards, thanks to a fixed wheel system.
Hire an indoor cycle and challenge yourself to boost fitness levels with an intense workout. HiiT training can use spinning as one of the elements.
Some models have connection to apps and videos to simulate being in a class.
Upper Body Cycles or UBEs are specifically designed for training without using the lower body. This makes them ideal for injured athletes, certain disabled users, or anyone wanting to increase upper body endurance.
Hiring an upper body ergo is cost effective as they are quite expensive to buy.
We have had disabled athletes rent one of these prior to competing in the Olympics.
Local delivery is available and we always install hire bikes and give instruction on safe use.
An alternative to the indoor cycles is to attach your road bike to an indoor trainer like a Turbo Trainer, Tacx, Wahoo or Zwift system. These allow you to ride your own cycle and even race against others online. Imagine riding a stage of the Tour De France from your own front room, very cool.
