When the Campaign for Wool needed a memorable way to showcase the modern appeal of wool, they decided to do something completely unexpected—film a sheep walking on a treadmill! To make that happen, they turned to Fit Hire for a bespoke gym set that could be delivered, set up, and cleared away all in one day. For us, it was a slightly surreal but totally enjoyable challenge.

The Story Behind the Campaign

Launched by His Majesty King Charles III, the Campaign for Wool exists to champion the natural and sustainable benefits of wool. Over the years, it’s become known for its bold, creative marketing—and this particular campaign was no different.

To bring their latest idea to life, the team needed a gym scene that looked completely authentic, yet could be controlled and filmed in a studio environment. Public gyms were never going to be an option. That's where Fit Hire came in.

Why a Gym Set Was the Perfect Fit

Trying to shoot inside a working gym can be tricky—there are noise issues, lighting challenges, and the risk of disrupting gym-goers. But building a custom set from scratch is expensive and time-consuming.

The Campaign for Wool needed something in between: a fully-equipped, camera-ready gym that could be set up quickly and safely accommodate their very woolly star. With time tight and filming just around the corner, they reached out to us for help.

The shoot took place in a studio, with Fit Hire supplying a treadmill and supporting equipment to recreate a clean, modern gym environment. Our team managed everything from delivery to set-up and stayed nearby during filming in case anything needed adjusting on the day.

The sheep handled the treadmill like a pro, and the whole campaign went off without a hitch—drawing plenty of attention for all the right reasons.
