Fit Hire - SSIP
Fit Hire is approved by SSIP under the CDM Vendor Award, which is a UK non-profit organisation established to facilitate mutual recognition between H&S assessment schemes (like Altius VA) and certificating bodies in order to save costs for suppliers.
This is supported by the HSE (Health & Safety Executive) and works closely with members to ensure that H&S assessments are conducted in line with the size and capacity of the vendors.
For Fit Hire, being recognised by the SSIP scheme is important in negotiations with potential clients, who are looking for a high quality supplier with the ability to back up any claims that it takes health and safety seriously.
Our staff are regularly briefed about health and safety issues, and also have First Aid training every 3 years. We are committed to reporting any serious injuries or diseases through RIDDOR if necessary.
The HSE produce a monthly publication which has updates and news in relation to safety issues, and any relevant information is shared during our staff and toolbox meetings.
SSIP registration is a way of allowing clients to see that we maintain high levels of health and safety management. It speeds up the process of tendering or fulfilling PQQs by removing the duplication of questions and form filling.
All potential clients are able to see records of the current (and previous) year’s work and proof of our qualifications though the SSIP portal. Although it is a UK – based scheme, it is recognised worldwide as a method of finding reliable suppliers.
