Design for Commercial Gyms

Clubs and PT Studios

There are numerous things to consider when creating a Commercial gym space. As you move from the early stages of planning and into the detail, we will be on hand to advise and guide you based on our previous experience with similar clients.

We offer a complete gym design service, from the initial tendering process through to the final handover. For larger facilities we offer full colour 3D CAD room plans, which are useful for visualising the areas of the gym from every angle, and marketing your planned facility.

Our partnership with some of the biggest brands in the industry means that the space we design for you will be contemporary and exciting.

Company Gyms

In recent years, the “Corporate Wellness” sector has seen significant growth, fuelled by evidence that physically healthy staff work more efficiently. Physical activity also improves mental health, which in turn makes for a happier working environment. Non - attendance rates are reduced, and the Company benefits from a workforce that embraces sporting activity both in and outside of the workplace.

Since we have been creating Workplace gyms for over 15 years, the choice of equipment we can offer is now greater than ever.

We work closely with the management team to create an attractive space, and our 3D CAD design service gives an accurate idea of how the room will look when completed. We also recommend taking a survey among staff to gauge which types of equipment will be most popular.

Once the gym is commissioned, we can offer inductions and a discreet Health Screening programme for your staff that demonstrates the effectiveness of the new facility, and motivates everyone to use it.

Hotels and leisure

We offer both long and short term options for Hotels.

Designing a Fitness Suite that compliments other Spa facilities will demand good planning and often requires a compact solution due to space restrictions.

One consideration is to keep the gym room away from the pool area, as the moist air is harmful to the electrical components in fitness machines.

Occasionally, a VIP guest may request a private training area, either within their room or in a separate suite, for a number of days or weeks. We offer short term hire for this purpose, and we do our best to supply equipment that the guest is familiar with.

We have worked with many prestigious hotels to re-create the kind of experience their guests enjoy at home. We work in a discreet manner, and are happy to sign NDAs where necessary.

Rental, residential and retirement

In recent years, the growth in residential gyms has exceeded all expectations.

Fuelled by an increased awareness of the need for fitness at all stages of life, and the rising costs of travel and gym memberships, an on-site gym is a very attractive proposition for both landlords and tenants.

Property investors expect to see leisure facilities in any large new-build complex, and rental returns are generally higher where a gym is provided. Fit Hire works with many property and management companies to design, supply and fit gym rooms – we even offer a “dress-to-let” option for prestigious homes.

Retirement living continues to grow steadily, and due to mobility issues, many residents will use the on-site gym rather than travel to a leisure centre.

The starting point is to help you design the space - our 3D CAD design service gives an accurate idea of how the room will look, which also helps when marketing the property for sale or rent.

Design for Educational sites

Schools

With the UK government targets for reducing obesity in young people seeming to be unattainable, anything we can do to promote physical activity at a young age is a good thing.

A well-designed fitness suite can help to improve the sporting performance of any school, and helps to engage pupils during a P.E. period even when the weather prevents outdoor sport. Most fitness equipment is suited to senior school pupils, with less choice for younger age groups.

Our 3D CAD design service enables an accurate rendering of the space, and this can form part of the marketing process prior to the room being completed.

We can advise on the kind of equipment that is best suited to this tough environment - in our experience, sturdy and simple kit is a good starting point.

We are an approved supplier on the UK School Supplies Service portal.

Financing a new facility can be helped with lottery funding, a government grant or a finance lease (State-funded schools must use an Operating Lease, which we also offer).

Colleges & Universities

As the Student Accommodation sector continues to boom, the expectation for all-inclusive facilities increases. These days, having en suite bathrooms, dedicated WiFi and communal gaming rooms is no longer an exception to the rule. As part of this trend, we are seeing a bigger demand for Gym facilities in residential blocks of more than around 50 units.

Fit Hire have been creating College and University gyms for over 15 years, so we know the most robust and attractive equipment to offer.

Our 3D CAD design service gives an accurate idea of how the room will look, which helps when marketing the property for rent, often in the months prior to the new intake of students in September.

Compared to the cost of furnishing rooms or supplying an entertainment space, fitting out a gym room is relatively affordable.

We are an approved supplier on the Kaltz Tertiary Procurement portal.

Spreading the cost of new equipment is best done via a Finance Lease, and we offer these through our finance partners. Feel free to request a quotation, or simply use our calculator tool on the Commercial catalogue pages.

Design for Home Gyms

The travel - free gym

Having a training space at home is convenient, cost effective, and can even enhance the value of a property.

Why travel miles every time you want to train, or attempt to cram a workout into your busy working day? Not to mention queuing to use a piece of kit at the local gym when it is full.

Even if you enjoy a public gym environment, there will be times when you simply want to train at home.

We offer a bespoke home gym design service, ensuring that your training space works perfectly from day one. From the initial contact through to the handover, we strive to match your training needs to the right equipment.

A free room plan will help you to visualise the space (3D CAD versions are chargeable).

Before installation we often complete a site survey, and on the delivery day, our professional technicians will complete the installation and show how you the equipment works.

See examples of our more recent designs in the area below.
